Gantheaume Point, Broome

El Questro

Visit the unique and spectacular El Questro Wilderness Park, which covers almost one million acres of rugged landscape with breathtaking untamed beauty. Accommodation is comfortable tented cabins (all with private ensuite) at the Emma Gorge Resort, hidden within the fiery red cliffs of the Cockburn Ranges, surrounded by leafy Palms and Pandanus. During our stay experience the Chamberlain Gorge tranquil river cruise, one of the best introductions to El Questro. Only accessible by boat, our knowledgeable guide shares informative commentary as we cruise peacefully exploring the spectacular fresh waterhole surrounded by towering escarpments.

Argyle Diamond Mine

Commissioned in 1985 and having produced more than 791 million carats of diamonds, Argyle Diamond Mine is one of the world's largest producers of natural coloured diamonds. During your tour, you will view the process plant and the open-cut pit. Learn about the processes employed in diamond extraction and the area's cultural significance prior to a buffet lunch in the staff village. Time to browse the diamond gallery and the village store.

Geikie Gorge

Geikie Gorge was once under a shallow tropical sea during the Devonian Period over 350 million years ago. Geikie Gorge, formed by the Fitzroy River cutting through the remains of this ancient reef, is 14km long and only accessible during the dry season, late May to October. 350 million year old fossils are clearly and easily seen throughout the gorge. Marvel at the sheer cliff face as we cruise around this spectacular region. Freshwater crocodiles, stingrays, sharks and sawfish intermingle with rock wallabies and the many species of beautiful birds, each finding its own niche in the diverse ecosystem.
